WHAT IS HIMS, AND WHAT IS EMR?

HIMS means HealthCare Information Management System. It is the practice of acquiring, analyzing and protecting digital and traditional medical information vital to providing quality patient care. With the widespread computerization of health records, traditional (paper-based) records are being replaced with Electronic Medical Records (EMRs). The tools of health informatics and health information technology are being increasingly utilized to introduce efficiency in information management practices in the health care sector. Both hospital information systems and health human resources information systems (HRHIS) are common implementations of HIM.

HOW DO I CONTACT SOFTCOM SUPPORT IF I HAVE ANY ISSUE AS A CLIENT?

An Softcom client always comes first. We, as a company strive to ensure that any help required is obtained in the shortest period possible through our support. A client, after opening the Softcom Website, has access to a support system portal whereby they should get registered and logged in with their username and password. Once logged in, a client has the freedom to ask any question that they need to.

HOW DO I SIGN UP INTO THE SOFTCOM SUPPORT SYSTEM? / HOW DO I OPT OUT?

A client can sign up into the support system once they have entered the Softcom website. There will be a pop-up window that will welcome you, and ask you to sign up for any support needed. A client can decide to opt out of the support portal if need be, by deregistering themselves through a provision given by the system.

CAN A PATIENT ACCESS THEIR OWN MEDICAL RECORDS THROUGH THE CARESOFT SYSTEM ?

Patients cannot login into the system to access their own medical records. Patients can only get to view their medical records through reports given to them by their clinicians.

AFTER INSTALLATION, CAN I GET (24HOUR) TECHNICAL SUPPORT IF THERE IS A PROBLEM ?

Support is available to any of our clients, during the day. Currently we offer a 12 hour support system during the day, and only deal with emergency cases during the night. This is especially so because, for the most part, the system is self-sufficient, and does not experience many issues. Another reason is also because most hospitals are highly active during the day, and less active at night, unless on emergency cases.

IS THERE A HARD COPY OF ALL PATIENT INFORMATION WHICH IS IN THE MEDICAL RECORD OR IS IT ONLY ELECTRONIC ?

It is recommended that a hospital uses the HIMS system throughout because it is completely reliable. A hospital may choose to keep both their hard copy information, and also use the system. This choice has been left to the disposal of the client.
