Tele-Radiology

Tele-Radiology

Tele Radiology is the transmission of radiological patient images, such as x-rays, CTs, &MRIs, from one location to another for the purposes of interpretation and/or consultation. Tele Radiology improves patient care by allowing Radiologists to Provide services without actually having to be at the location of the patient. This is particularly important when a sub-specialist such as a MRI Radiologist, Neuro-radiologist, Pediatric Radiologist, or Musculoskeletal Radiologist is needed, since these professionals are generally only located in large metropolitan areas working during day time hours. Tele Radiology allows for trained specialists to be available 24/7.

Tele-Medicine

Tele-Medicine

Telemedicine is the use of telecommunication and information technologies to provide clinical health care at a distance. It helps eliminate distance barriers and can improve access to medical services that would often not be consistently available in distant rural communities. It is also used to save lives in critical care and emergency situations. Although there were distant precursors to telemedicine These technologies permit communications between patient and medical staff with both convenience and fidelity, as well as the transmission of Medical, imaging and health informatics data from one site to another. Telemedicine diagnostic methods supported by distributed client/server applications, and additionally with Telemedical devices to support in-home care.
